I have an itchy/allergic kid, too. I feel like a jerk when I explain right from drop off that her eyes are red because of ALLERGIES (Not be named-pink eye).

Ooof yes, it's so frustrating! I've wished I could put her in a shirt that says "I have asthma" to take her places b/c of all the coughing. Solidarity!

When I worked part-time and parented the rest of the time I always felt like my legs were never long enough to be in both places at once. Wasn't there a myth about a giant who could straddle two worlds? But your story has a happy ending because the itching could be cured with medicine and was not the result of "head effing lice."

oh p.s. Griffin selected a TITANIC book from the library yesterday and talked about it all through bath time (I think he's making up facts though, need to become a titanic adult to confirm)

Ask me anything about the Titanic, Olympic, and Britannic. I never truly recovered from Lady Marjorie Bellamy ( a character on Upstairs, Downstairs) going down on the ship. The Unsinkable Molly Brown also left a deep impression on me.

similarly — I was thinking last night about how Downton Abbey kicked off with the sinking of the Titanic!

I love vibes-based Titanic history, I love "the gist" from a child!

I literally almost started recording a voice note for you. If it happens again, I shall! According to Griffin, the Carpathia crashed into the port when it docked after rescuing Titanic survivors, so it also sunk. And experts don't know for sure IF the Titanic really did sink because the wreckage at the bottom of the ocean only has three propellers and the Titanic had four.

griff has to talk to japhs - japhy thoght the titanic was sunk by a u-boat, I think bc the sister ships all had crashes and one of them WAS torpedoed! Also there was a passenger who survived all three ships sinking/crashing!

I think we felt mostly like, well, we're in Belfast and we've got kids with us, we have to go? so we had low expectations and actually really enjoyed it!
